"Anchor of Hope:" Therapy Group for Those with a Loved One Impacted by COVID-19

Virtual Group for Those with a Loved One Impacted by COVID

facilitated by Stephanie Galarza Conti, MS, LAC, NCC

WHC is offering a new group, “Anchor of Hope,” for individuals who have a loved one struggling with a Coronavirus diagnosis.

During this challenging time, the COVID-19 pandemic & its social distancing orders have created a compelling need for interpersonal support to families with loved ones who are are currently hospitalized with COVID.

According to research, a strong emotional support system is vital for coping with life’s unprecedented and unavoidable difficulties. According to the American Psychological Association (2019), individuals without a social support system reported higher levels of stress and health issues compared to those with such support.

The purpose of the group is to offer emotional support for families facing an unprecedented crisis; those struggling to cope with the stress, intense fear, and uncertainly related to their loved ones’ recovery/wellbeing.

This group will act as a process group and will be held on Mondays @ 7:00 p.m. for six consecutive weeks.
