Radical Acceptance

Radical Acceptance: A DBT-Informed Skills Group is a weekly therapeutic support group that involves psychoeducation, skill building and emotional processing. The 2nd cycle of Radical Acceptance is starting on May 18th, being held virtually on Tuesdays at 3:00 p.m.

Facilitated by Amanda Fresnics, LCSW

Each week focuses on one of the four DBT modules: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation and interpersonal effectiveness. Participants will have the opportunity to process their experiences, ask questions and receive support to cultivate mindful self-acceptance while navigating the waters of change.

Dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) is a treatment modality that emphasizes self-acceptance while also acknowledging the necessity for change. It aims to improve present moment awareness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation and interpersonal effectiveness. Those who practice these skills have an opportunity to live a more balanced and equanimitous life.

*To preserve the intimate group experience, new participants are invited to join during the Mindfulness module only (group is ONGOING)

All participants are encouraged to complete 6 weeks at minimum.

Week 1: Mindfulness (open to new clients)

Week 2-3: Distress Tolerance

week 4-5: Emotion Regulation

Week 6: Interpersonal Effectiveness
(Continuing again with Week 1)
