Mental Health Pop-Up

Fitness centers, beach clubs, and theme parks offer affordable guest passes for those interested in sampling the service experience prior to committing to ongoing membership. Getting started with therapy is a big step and often involves quite a bit of research, motivation building, contacting local providers, and making decisions regarding which provider and form of treatment without the basic understanding of how it all works. By the time all is said and done, many will feel tired, frustrated, and less motivated to move forward. Wholehearted Healing Collective has created the Mental Health Pop-Up to provide an accessible and affordable way to sample counseling without the hassle of calling, scheduling, and discussing insurance.

The Pop-Up events are staffed by graduate-level counseling, clinical social work, and art therapy interns that are second and third year masters-level students that have met all requirements necessary to begin offering individual, group, family, and couples counseling services. Masters-level interns have thorough training in evidence-based treatment and are supervised by WHC's professionally licensed clinicians and clinical supervisors.

The pop-ups will be offered at varying times depending on intern's most recent availability. Check our website or Instagram for current weekly schedule, as unexpected changes may occur.

Summer 2021 schedule (May 24-Aug 20)

Wednesday 11am-4pm
Thursday 12-8pm
Friday 12-5pm

Appointments are first come first serve and cannot be scheduled over the phone. Walk-in only. If you wish to extend your session to 60 mins, you may be permitted to do so if the clinical intern is available during the second 30-minute block, including whether or not there are others waiting for a drop-in appointment. If you enjoy the pop-up session and wish to schedule follow-up appointments with our clinical interns, you can discuss that with them during the initial appointment.

We will be offering 30 minute pop-up therapy sessions for a fee of $20. Insurance is not accepted for pop-up sessions. If you'd like to schedule follow up appointments with one of the licensed therapists in our practice after your pop-up session, we can accept insurance at that time.

The mental health pop-up is perfect for you if:

  • You've never seen a therapist before
  • You're having a hard time finding a therapist that has availability
  • You haven't "clicked" with your previous therapists
  • Your current therapist isn't available
  • You're not yet ready to commit to ongoing therapy but are interested in learning a few tips for stress management

During a Pop-Up session you can expect to:

  • Learn about stress management & coping skills
  • Explore alternative ways of thinking and perceiving your current situation
  • Challenge self-limiting beliefs
  • Ask any questions you may have about ongoing psychotherapy and specific types of mental health treatment
  • Receive referrals for local therapists that our team highly recommends
