Parenting is a demanding and often thankless job. This is true for those of us with neurotypical children. Having a child with special needs adds another dimension. Having a child with oh neurotypical and special needs...well "overwhelming" doesn’t seem to quite cover it, does it?
Parenting is challenging! It is a 24 hour a day, 365 days a year, unpaid role. Add to that the current climate, it’s changes, and challenges. We often feel frazzled, disconnected, unsure, and scared. Now, more than ever, parents need support. A space to put down their worries and learn new ways to cope, in a community that understands their unique struggles. In order to be the best parent we can be, we must practice nurturing and caring for ourselves. We cannot give what we do not have.
This group is intended to provide the support and community of individuals who understand the demand, guilt, an stress, the space to create REALISTIC expectations, and educate a variety of much needed self-care practice
