A 3-day workshop in practicing Kintsugi, a Japanese art style with therapeutic benefits, facilitated by Erin Gibbons, ATR-BC, LCAT.
About this event
Important: participants must be able to attend all 3 dates
Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the cracks, breaks, and seams, highlighting the imperfections and creating new beauty and uniqueness in the piece of art.
When we go through this process, it reminds us of how people themselves can be broken and repaired in a similar way--how emphasizing, reflecting on, and loving our scars and imperfections can be helpful for our mental health, healing, and recovery.
This workshop, facilitated on 10/12, 10/19, and 10/26 by art therapist Erin Gibbons, ATR-BC, LCAT, will strive to stimulate this healing process through reflection, processing, deconstruction, and reparation.
